EY Manufacturing North America

Daikin

Supply Chain Optimization

Daikin's acquisition-driven growth left it with diverse workflows, customized systems and fragmented data across order management, supply chain, fulfillment and finance, making it hard to deliver a consistent dealer experience or scale its operations efficiently across North America.

Solution

Daikin aligned its North American transformation around a 'One Daikin' operating model built on SAP S/4HANA and reusable capabilities on SAP Business Technology Platform. EY and SAP teams began with immersive discovery across dealer, branch counter and back-office personas, then designed fit-to-standard workflows for sales, logistics, procurement, warehouse and finance operations. The program replaced fragmented regional screens with single-screen workflows, mobile-first dealer capabilities and consolidated finance and warehouse experiences so branches could work from a common digital core. AI was embedded in both delivery and operations: AI-assisted code generation, automated testing, statistical forecasting, conversational interfaces and decision support accelerated rollout and improved fulfillment and planning. Governance controls, traceability and audit-ready reporting were built in early so the transformation could scale predictably across branches and future regions.

Data flow

Dealer, branch and back-office data flows into SAP S/4HANA and connected BTP workflows for order management, inventory, warehouse and finance operations. Shared services unify procurement, logistics and sales data, while forecasting and conversational decision-support layers help employees and dealers act on the same operational signals in one workflow.

How scores are calculated

Customer Reference Value measures usefulness as a customer reference. Evidence Confidence measures the quality and traceability of available evidence, not independent verification.

Customer reference value100/100
  • Problem clarity20/20
Measures whether the customer's operational problem is specific enough to compare.
  • Implementation depth25/25
Rewards named components, data flow, integrations, and architecture detail.
  • Outcome specificity20/20
Measures whether the reported benefit is concrete rather than a generic claim.
  • Quantified impact25/25
    4 metrics describe measurable impact.
  • Deployment scale10/10
Rewards evidence of a live or scaled deployment and meaningful integration scope.
