Sales Automation

Cisco's Customer Experience team had to analyze more than 50 signals across structured and unstructured systems to prepare renewal proposals, but the manual process left too little time to build personalized, data-driven proposals and prepare well for customer engagements.

Solution

Cisco built the AI Renewals Agent with Mistral to automate a renewal-proposal workflow that previously required CX teams to manually interpret more than fifty signals across structured and unstructured systems. The agent sits over on-prem customer data and uses text-to-SQL techniques to pull relevant facts from multiple platforms, then assembles account context so teams can prepare tailored renewal proposals and customer-engagement plans faster. Cisco and Mistral's Applied AI team are fine-tuning the underlying models for Cisco-specific data and knowledge and scaling the deployment across Cisco's GPU cluster. The result is an agentic workflow that keeps sensitive data on premise while turning scattered account signals into draft proposals and preparation material for a large global CX organization.

Data flow

Structured and unstructured customer signals remain on premise across multiple internal platforms; the AI Renewals Agent uses Mistral LLMs and text-to-SQL techniques to pull and interpret those signals, assemble account context, and return draft renewal proposals plus customer-engagement preparation material to CX teams.

How scores are calculated

Customer Reference Value measures usefulness as a customer reference. Evidence Confidence measures the quality and traceability of available evidence, not independent verification.

Customer reference value90/100
  • Problem clarity20/20
Measures whether the customer's operational problem is specific enough to compare.
  • Implementation depth25/25
Rewards named components, data flow, integrations, and architecture detail.
  • Outcome specificity20/20
Measures whether the reported benefit is concrete rather than a generic claim.
  • Quantified impact15/25
    1 metric describe measurable impact.
  • Deployment scale10/10
Rewards evidence of a live or scaled deployment and meaningful integration scope.
Evidence confidence89%
  • Source authority20/25
The main evidence is an official vendor-published customer story.
  • Claim traceability21/25
10 of 12 key fields link to a named source.
  • Direct evidence20/20
    5 direct source quotes retained.
  • Date provenance10/10
The publication date comes from the source page or publisher.
  • Source transparency8/10
1 source reference document publisher, URL, authority, retrieval, and supported fields.
  • Implementation specificity10/10
