Solution

ArcelorMittal needed to unify scattered quality data across global factories to reduce defects, cut costs, and ensure customer satisfaction in a complex steel production process. ArcelorMittal chose MongoDB Atlas on Azure to power E-GPQS, enabling scalable, low-maintenance data processing of 2.5TB/year with fast setup, flexibility, and high availability. Saving time and improving efficiency With ArcelorMittal now able to view critical data in one central location, it can gain essential insights into production and tackle complex data-correlation tasks that enable process improvement. ArcelorMittal has also developed a series of new dashboards and associated key performance indicators that enable wider analysis both at plant level and across the wider production chain to enable larger-scale studies. “It makes sense to not just focus on the production level, and this central database allows me to go beyond that,” Xavier explains.

Data flow

Operational events, telemetry, or transaction data are ingested into MongoDB Atlas, enriched or filtered where needed, retained for fast query access, and served to analytics, monitoring, or customer-facing workflows in near real time. Upstream and downstream integrations include Azure, CRM systems, data lake.

How scores are calculated

Customer Reference Value measures usefulness as a customer reference. Evidence Confidence measures the quality and traceability of available evidence, not independent verification.

Customer reference value90/100
  • Problem clarity20/20
Measures whether the customer's operational problem is specific enough to compare.
  • Implementation depth25/25
Rewards named components, data flow, integrations, and architecture detail.
  • Outcome specificity20/20
Measures whether the reported benefit is concrete rather than a generic claim.
  • Quantified impact15/25
    1 metric describe measurable impact.
  • Deployment scale10/10
Rewards evidence of a live or scaled deployment and meaningful integration scope.
Evidence confidence79%
  • Source authority20/25
The main evidence is an official vendor-published customer story.
  • Claim traceability21/25
10 of 12 key fields link to a named source.
  • Direct evidence20/20
    4 direct source quotes retained.
  • Date provenance0/10
The publication date has no documented provenance.
  • Source transparency8/10
1 source reference document publisher, URL, authority, retrieval, and supported fields.
  • Implementation specificity10/10
Rewards source-backed components, data flow, quantified impact, and a specific outcome.
