Worley

Document Processing · Enterprise Knowledge Search

Worley needed to unlock more than 50 years of engineering knowledge across over 100,000 documents, but fragmented tools, isolated repositories, and slow document retrieval caused engineers to waste time and made it hard to get accurate answers quickly.

Solution

Worley built Worley AI.Assist as a unified engineering knowledge assistant on NVIDIA's enterprise AI stack. NVIDIA NIM microservices provide the layer for deploying and managing multiple LLMs and embedding models across Worley's global infrastructure, while NVIDIA Triton Inference Server lets the assistant serve several model types simultaneously with lower latency. For retrieval, NVIDIA NeMo Retriever converts both queries and source documents into vector embeddings so the system can find the most relevant engineering information, and a GPU-accelerated Milvus vector database performs similarity search across 100,000-plus document embeddings. Above that stack, Worley supports conversational search, uploaded-document question answering, temporary document snapshots, and agentic routing to specialized analysis tools, with results for some workflows stored in Microsoft Azure. Together, these layers turn a fragmented engineering corpus into a governed, scalable virtual assistant.

Data flow

User questions or uploaded engineering files enter Worley AI.Assist, NeMo Retriever embeds both queries and documents, Milvus returns relevant knowledge-base matches, Triton and NIM serve the language and embedding models, and specialized document-analysis workflows can route results into Azure while the assistant returns cited answers to engineers.

Architecture clues

  • Milvus is the vector database behind more than 100,000 document embeddings.
  • The assistant supports conversational search, uploaded-document Q&A, and specialized routing for drawings and quality files.
  • Worley uses a secure, modular environment designed to protect data privacy and intellectual property.

Evidence from the source

At the heart of the platform are NVIDIA NIM™ microservices, which provide secure, production-ready environments for deploying generative AI models at scale.
For high-precision search and contextual understanding, Worley relies on NVIDIA NeMo™ Retriever.
Supporting this intelligence is a GPU-accelerated vector database, Milvus, which enables lightning-fast similarity search across more than 100,000 document embeddings.
This new solution, Worley AI.Assist, brings together all of Worley's engineering knowledge and best practices into a single, scalable virtual assistant.
What once took users more than 15 minutes ... can now take less than 5 minutes with Worley AI.Assist.

Scoring methodology

How scores are calculated

Customer Reference Value measures usefulness as a customer reference. Evidence Confidence measures the quality and traceability of available evidence, not independent verification.

Customer reference value100/100
  • Problem clarity20/20
Measures whether the customer's operational problem is specific enough to compare.
  • Implementation depth25/25
Rewards named components, data flow, integrations, and architecture detail.
  • Outcome specificity20/20
Measures whether the reported benefit is concrete rather than a generic claim.
  • Quantified impact25/25
    3 metrics describe measurable impact.
  • Deployment scale10/10
Rewards evidence of a live or scaled deployment and meaningful integration scope.
Evidence confidence89%
  • Source authority20/25
The main evidence is an official vendor-published customer story.
  • Claim traceability21/25
10 of 12 key fields link to a named source.
  • Direct evidence20/20
    5 direct source quotes retained.
  • Date provenance10/10
The publication date comes from the source page or publisher.
  • Source transparency8/10
1 source reference document publisher, URL, authority, retrieval, and supported fields.
  • Implementation specificity10/10
