Sales Automation

Accenture wanted an AI assistant that could operate inside its highly customized sales process, handle complex tagging and coaching workflows, and prove the value of Agentforce before a broad rollout across a 55,000-seller organization.

Solution

Accenture is piloting Agentforce inside its global sales organization as a 'customer zero' deployment that sits directly on top of its existing Salesforce sales architecture and custom data model. The company adapted Agentforce to internal concepts such as Marketing Units and service-line tagging so the agent can work against Accenture's real database layer instead of a generic out-of-the-box schema. That lets Agentforce either guide sellers through complex workflows like creating a missing sales tag or complete the tagging workflow itself, while another sales-coaching use case stays with a seller from RFP creation through live client interactions. All proposal and opportunity data already flows through Sales Cloud and a BI layer, so leaders can query the pipeline for patterns and learn from the pilot's thumbs-up and thumbs-down feedback loop before deciding how to scale the deployment globally.

Data flow

Opportunity, proposal, and interaction data flows through Sales Cloud and Accenture's BI layer into Salesforce, where Agentforce reads the custom sales model, automates tagging, coaches sellers, and improves from explicit user feedback during the pilot.

Solution architecture

3 components · 3 layers
  1. Storage
    • Salesforce Platform Hosts Accenture's customized CRM data model, including Marketing Units and service-line tags.
  2. Serving
    • Sales Cloud Stores opportunity and proposal data for Accenture's global sales process and custom ontology.
  3. Orchestration
    • Agentforce Guides sellers, automates tagging workflows, and provides deal coaching across the sales lifecycle.

Architecture clues

  • 100% of deal proposals and opportunity management data flows through the Sales Cloud org.
  • Accenture customized Agentforce to understand internal Marketing Unit fields and service-line tags.
  • Pilot feedback is collected through immediate thumbs-up and thumbs-down responses.

Evidence from the source

Our pilot is 2,200 users ... We have 55,000 sellers.
We also have an Agentforce sales coach that stays with a seller throughout the lifecycle - from request for proposal (RFP) to real-time client interactions.
We define Marketing Units (MUs) as a geography. But out of the box, the MU field was not recognized by Agentforce, so we had to customize it.
With Agentforce, the AI agent can either guide them like a trusted coworker or automatically take on the tagging workflow.

How scores are calculated

Customer Reference Value measures usefulness as a customer reference. Evidence Confidence measures the quality and traceability of available evidence, not independent verification.

Customer reference value75/100
  • Problem clarity20/20
Measures whether the customer's operational problem is specific enough to compare.
  • Implementation depth25/25
Rewards named components, data flow, integrations, and architecture detail.
  • Outcome specificity20/20
Measures whether the reported benefit is concrete rather than a generic claim.
  • Quantified impact0/25
    0 metrics describe measurable impact.
  • Deployment scale10/10
Rewards evidence of a live or scaled deployment and meaningful integration scope.
Evidence confidence87%
  • Source authority20/25
The main evidence is an official vendor-published customer story.
