Rexera

Document Processing

Rexera needed to replace slow, manual, error-prone residential real estate closing workflows with a scalable AI system that could process large legal-document sets, extract critical details, and reduce risks and human effort across transactions.

Solution

Rexera runs its AI-assisted closing workflows on AWS, centering the implementation on Amazon Bedrock after a two-week proof of concept and a two-week migration from OpenAI. The system ingests large sets of real estate documents, including homeowners associations' agreements and property records, and uses large language models in Amazon Bedrock to extract critical details, flag obstacles, and identify counterparties such as municipalities, lenders, utilities, and homeowners associations. Rexera applies a multiple-model strategy with Meta's Llama and Anthropic's Claude in Bedrock to reduce hallucinations and bias while keeping operations stable inside its broader AWS environment. Retrieval-augmented generation supplies document-specific context, and downstream AI agents use the extracted facts to verify customer communications, run quality control across transactions, and place calls to confirm property information and request missing documents.

Data flow

Rexera ingests real estate documents such as homeowners associations' agreements and property records, sends them through Amazon Bedrock with retrieval-augmented context, and uses the extracted facts in downstream AI agents that verify communications, flag transaction issues, and request missing information from counterparties.

Solution architecture

  1. Compute
    • Amazon Bedrock Hosts the generative AI workflows that process closing documents, extract details, and coordinate model use in production.
    • Meta's Llama Serves as one of the foundation model options Rexera selects in Amazon Bedrock for document-processing tasks.
    • Anthropic's Claude Serves as one of the foundation model options Rexera selects in Amazon Bedrock for document-processing tasks.

Architecture clues

  • AI agents verify customer communications, run transaction quality control, and call counterparties to confirm property information.
  • Retrieval-augmented generation uses homeowners associations' agreements and property records as context.
  • Rexera completed a 2-week proof of concept and a 2-week migration to Amazon Bedrock in the second quarter of 2024.
  • The implementation uses a multiple-model approach in Amazon Bedrock to reduce biases and hallucinations.

Evidence from the source

After a 2-week proof of concept and a 2-week migration, Rexera moved fully into production on Amazon Bedrock in the second quarter of 2024.
On average, Rexera’s solution saves customers 4 hours on manual document review in each transaction and lowers operational costs by 25 percent.
This tool reduces manual review time by 80 percent and significantly lowers the risk of missing critical information.
Thus, the company reduces manual document-processing workloads for customers by 99 percent and minimizes document-related risks and inaccuracies.
Using AWS, Rexera processes 5 million pages of real estate documents and facilitates over 5,000 transactions each month, and the first workflow that Rexera developed is now used in 1 percent of all US residential real estate transactions.
With a multiple-model approach, we have an accuracy rate of more than 95 percent and need less human intervention in straightforward cases.

How scores are calculated

Customer Reference Value measures usefulness as a customer reference. Evidence Confidence measures the quality and traceability of available evidence, not independent verification.

Customer reference value100/100
  • Problem clarity20/20
Measures whether the customer's operational problem is specific enough to compare.
  • Implementation depth25/25
Rewards named components, data flow, integrations, and architecture detail.
  • Outcome specificity20/20
Measures whether the reported benefit is concrete rather than a generic claim.
  • Quantified impact25/25
    6 metrics describe measurable impact.
  • Deployment scale10/10
Rewards evidence of a live or scaled deployment and meaningful integration scope.
Evidence confidence90%
  • Source authority20/25
The main evidence is an official vendor-published customer story.
