TransJakarta

Customer Service Automation

TransJakarta needed to handle growing passenger questions about routes, schedules, and service updates after enquiries rose past 23,000 messages per month, because manual support across its app and social channels left riders waiting around an hour for responses.

Solution

TransJakarta deployed TARA (TransJakarta Assistant Representative Agent) as a conversational support layer across the TJ: TransJakarta app and the operator's social channels to absorb rising commuter demand. Passenger questions about routes, schedules, and service updates are sent to DeepSeek V3.2 through BytePlus ModelArk, which lets riders ask in natural language and receive contextual responses in about a minute instead of waiting around an hour for manual handling. The implementation does more than answer routine enquiries: TARA classifies incoming messages and routes operational reports directly into TransJakarta's CRM and field teams so incidents reach the right operators faster. This architecture turned BytePlus into both the inference layer and the integration surface for commuter support, giving the bus network a scalable AI foundation while freeing customer service agents to focus on harder cases.

Data flow

Questions arrive from the TJ: TransJakarta app and social channels, TARA sends them through BytePlus ModelArk to DeepSeek V3.2 for contextual answers, and classified operational reports are routed into TransJakarta's CRM and field teams while agents keep the remaining complex cases.
