Solution

AES built a generative-AI audit environment on Google Cloud using Gemini platform and Anthropic Claude models to automate large portions of safety-review work. Gemini platform provides the secure managed environment for deploying and coordinating the audit agents, while Claude is called through Gemini platform APIs to handle the reasoning-heavy portions of the process. This approach solved security concerns around permissions and service-account management and gave AES a way to synchronize multiple agents across complex audit steps without building a new runtime from scratch. Human reviewers remain in the loop for final examination, but the AI agents now handle much of the repetitive evidence gathering and report generation. The result is a significantly faster, cheaper, and more accurate audit workflow that also lays a foundation for future predictive and maintenance-focused AI use cases across energy operations.

Data flow

Audit inputs are processed through Gemini platform, where Claude-powered agents execute reasoning and report-generation tasks. Human reviewers then examine the output before audits are finalized, keeping the process controlled and compliant.

Architecture clues

  • A human in the loop remains part of the process
  • Claude is enabled through API calls within the Gemini platform environment
  • Gemini platform resolves permission-level and service-account security issues
  • The project has already completed more than 50 agent audits

Evidence from the source

Our auditors previously spent 14 days completing each audit process. Now ... the same work is completed in just one hour.
Running Claude on Google Cloud is driving immense improvements, such as a 20% increase in audit accuracy and a 99% reduction in the cost of each audit.
The other half, which involves a ‘human in the loop’ examining the process, remains in place.
We found the solution by enabling Claude to be used through API calls within the Gemini platform environment.
we can double the number of audits conducted

How scores are calculated

Customer Reference Value measures usefulness as a customer reference. Evidence Confidence measures the quality and traceability of available evidence, not independent verification.

Customer reference value90/100
  • Problem clarity20/20
Measures whether the customer's operational problem is specific enough to compare.
  • Implementation depth20/25
Rewards named components, data flow, integrations, and architecture detail.
  • Outcome specificity20/20
Measures whether the reported benefit is concrete rather than a generic claim.
  • Quantified impact25/25
    4 metrics describe measurable impact.
  • Deployment scale5/10
Rewards evidence of a live or scaled deployment and meaningful integration scope.
Evidence confidence79%
  • Source authority20/25
The main evidence is an official vendor-published customer story.
  • Claim traceability21/25
10 of 12 key fields link to a named source.
  • Direct evidence20/20
    5 direct source quotes retained.
  • Date provenance0/10
The publication date has no documented provenance.
  • Source transparency8/10
1 source reference document publisher, URL, authority, retrieval, and supported fields.
  • Implementation specificity10/10
Rewards source-backed components, data flow, quantified impact, and a specific outcome.
