IT Operations Automation

Deutsche Telekom needed to move network operations beyond fragmented, reactive troubleshooting so it could predict, diagnose, and resolve service-impacting issues across RAN, transport, and core domains before customers experienced degraded connectivity.

Solution

Deutsche Telekom built and implemented MINDR as a multi-agent network diagnostics and remediation system with Google Cloud. The deployment extends the production RAN Guardian Agent, which already runs live in Germany, into an end-to-end service operations architecture. Specialized agents ingest network signals and event data from multiple network domains, then correlate them using Google Cloud's Autonomous Network Operations framework together with Google's Gemini models on Vertex AI. The agents create a real-time cross-domain view of service performance, support root-cause analysis, and trigger controlled remediation actions. In production, RAN Guardian monitors traffic surges and major events, pre-checks affected mobile sites, and autonomously adjusts network settings when loads spike. The source does not describe the persistent storage layer, but it clearly shows an AI serving layer for explainable diagnostics and operator-facing or automated remediation across Deutsche Telekom's network operations.

Data flow

Signals and operational data from the RAN, transport, and core network domains are collected by specialized agents, correlated end to end using the Autonomous Network Operations framework with Gemini models on Vertex AI, assembled into a real-time service-performance view for root-cause analysis, and used to drive explainable recommendations or autonomous remediation actions such as network adjustments at affected mobile sites.

Architecture clues

  • First production releases for MINDR are planned for later in 2026.
  • MINDR spans RAN, transport, and core domains.
  • RAN Guardian Agent has been live in production in Germany since November 2025.
  • RAN Guardian is scaling to Deutsche Telekom national companies starting with the Czech Republic and Croatia.
  • The source emphasizes explainable remediation and real-time end-to-end service visibility.
  • The system operates as a collaborative multi-agent architecture.

Evidence from the source

"As modern networks span multiple domains and technologies, operational teams often rely on fragmented systems that slow root-cause analysis and resolution."
"Deutsche Telekom, in partnership with Google Cloud, today announced the development and implementation of MINDR... a multi-agentic artificial intelligence (AI) system designed by Deutsche Telekom to enable autonomous diagnostics and operations across complex, multi-domain telecommunications networks."
"Developed with Google Cloud's Autonomous Network Operations framework, and built with Google Gemini models on Vertex AI, MINDR correlates signals end-to-end across network domains to proactively identify service-impacting issues and support autonomous, explainable remediation."
"Since its launch in November 2025, RAN Guardian Agent has autonomously triggered over 100 remediation actions at Christmas market events during its first month."
"Specialized agents collect and correlate network data, build a real-time, end-to-end view of service performance, and support root-cause analysis and controlled remediation across domains."
"in live operations it has reduced the time needed to manage major events from hours to around a minute, a more than 95% improvement."
