Ships run local Ruby agents on Google Distributed Cloud at the edge to ensure resilience for ship-level systems during offline operations while ships are at sea. While Virgin Voyages uses BigQuery to store data for analytics and model training, it uses Firestore for operational profiles and edge sync, plus Cloud Storage for assets. Meanwhile, Pub/Sub and Dataflow pipelines handle data enrichment and data loss prevention (DLP) checks. "Most organizations are drowning in data they can't act on.
