Blue Pearl

Document Processing

Blue Pearl needed to shorten hiring cycles and improve candidate matching because manual job-description creation and keyword-based screening were slow, inconsistent and often produced poor matches.

3x increase in shortlist rate, from 1 in 10 to 1 in 3 candidates shortlisted for interviews
85% reduction in the average time to fill vacancies, from ~21 days to under 3 days
97% reduction in screening time, from ~90 minutes to ~3 minutes per candidate

Reported impact

Business outcome

Blue Pearl sharply reduced hiring time and screening effort while improving candidate quality and overall recruitment effectiveness for customers using its platform.

Solution

Blue Pearl worked with IBM Client Engineering to build a generative-AI recruitment workflow around its blueapp.blue platform. IBM watsonx.ai analyzes structured and unstructured HR data such as job descriptions and résumés, while IBM Granite models provide deeper semantic understanding so the platform can generate detailed job descriptions and match candidates beyond simple keyword overlap. In the implemented flow, customer requirements and applicant documents are processed by the AI layer, which produces higher-quality job postings and candidate shortlists for recruiters to review. Those results are then surfaced through Blue Pearl’s existing platform so companies can move directly into screening and interview steps with less manual triage. The architecture transforms recruitment from document-heavy, error-prone workflow handling into an AI-assisted pipeline that is faster, more consistent and better aligned with both employer needs and candidate capabilities.

Data flow

Job requirements and résumé data enter blueapp.blue, are processed by watsonx.ai and Granite models to generate job descriptions and ranking signals, and then return to recruiters as shortlists and screening guidance.

Evidence from the source

Leveraging IBM Granite, a tool for advanced semantic analysis, the team developed a job-matching engine.
The new system reduced the average time to fill vacancies by over 85%, down from 21 days to under 3 days.
The proof of concept (POC) used large language models (LLMs) from the IBM watsonx.ai enterprise studio for AI builders to analyze structured and unstructured HR data, including job descriptions and résumés.

Scoring methodology

How scores are calculated

Customer Reference Value measures usefulness as a customer reference. Evidence Confidence measures the quality and traceability of available evidence, not independent verification.

Customer reference value100/100
  • Problem clarity20/20
Measures whether the customer's operational problem is specific enough to compare.
  • Implementation depth25/25
Rewards named components, data flow, integrations, and architecture detail.
  • Outcome specificity20/20
Measures whether the reported benefit is concrete rather than a generic claim.
  • Quantified impact25/25
    3 metrics describe measurable impact.
  • Deployment scale10/10
Rewards evidence of a live or scaled deployment and meaningful integration scope.
Evidence confidence84%
  • Source authority20/25
The main evidence is an official vendor-published customer story.
  • Claim traceability21/25
10 of 12 key fields link to a named source.
  • Direct evidence15/20
    3 direct source quotes retained.
  • Date provenance10/10
The publication date comes from the source page or publisher.
  • Source transparency8/10
1 source reference document publisher, URL, authority, retrieval, and supported fields.
  • Implementation specificity10/10
Rewards source-backed components, data flow, quantified impact, and a specific outcome.
