Solution

The Center for BrainHealth partnered with Dialexa, an IBM Company, to create a digital participant platform for The BrainHealth Project. Dialexa used design research, interviews and workshops to define the user journey, then built a data platform and portal hosted on AWS Cloud that lets participants enroll remotely, complete assessments, consume digital offerings and receive personalized recommendations and reports. Machine-learning algorithms were developed with the center's statisticians to perform initial assessments and support The BrainHealth Index, while the broader platform tracks participant progress and manages the information exchange needed to keep people engaged over time. In practice, the solution replaces a location-bound manual intake model with a scalable digital operating layer for neuroscience research, pairing product engineering, data management and algorithmic assessment in one participant-friendly experience that supports both scientific analysis and future commercialization.

Data flow

Participants enroll remotely through the portal, complete digital assessments that feed the platform's data layer, machine-learning algorithms generate initial assessments and BrainHealth Index measures, and personalized recommendations and progress tracking are returned through the user portal.

  1. Serving
    • AWS Cloud Hosts the BrainHealth data platform and participant portal used for enrollment, assessments and personalized reports.
  2. Orchestration
    • Dialexa, an IBM Company Designed and engineered the digital product, participant portal and machine-learning assessment workflow for The BrainHealth Project.

Architecture clues

  • Custom machine-learning algorithms were developed jointly with Center for BrainHealth statisticians.
  • The platform was hosted on AWS Cloud even though Dialexa, an IBM Company, led the product engineering engagement.
  • The solution evolved from a data platform into a participant-facing portal with personalized reports and progress tracking.

Scoring methodology

How scores are calculated

Customer Reference Value measures usefulness as a customer reference. Evidence Confidence measures the quality and traceability of available evidence, not independent verification.

Customer reference value90/100
  • Problem clarity20/20
Measures whether the customer's operational problem is specific enough to compare.
  • Implementation depth25/25
Rewards named components, data flow, integrations, and architecture detail.
  • Outcome specificity20/20
Measures whether the reported benefit is concrete rather than a generic claim.
  • Quantified impact15/25
    1 metric describe measurable impact.
  • Deployment scale10/10
Rewards evidence of a live or scaled deployment and meaningful integration scope.
Evidence confidence89%
  • Source authority20/25
The main evidence is an official vendor-published customer story.
  • Claim traceability21/25
10 of 12 key fields link to a named source.
  • Direct evidence20/20
    4 direct source quotes retained.
  • Date provenance10/10
The publication date comes from the source page or publisher.
  • Source transparency8/10
1 source reference document publisher, URL, authority, retrieval, and supported fields.
  • Implementation specificity10/10
Rewards source-backed components, data flow, quantified impact, and a specific outcome.
