DI Square

Customer Service Automation · Enterprise Knowledge Search

DI Square needed to improve call-center operator productivity and reduce dependence on individual know-how as labor shortages and higher staffing costs made it harder to hire, train, and retain operators.

Reported impact

Business outcome

DI Square created a call-center knowledge assistant that helps operators search faster, standardize answers, and increase response productivity while preserving and reusing accumulated know-how.

Solution

DI Square extended its EasyAnswer Series with EasyAnswer JINN/RAG-Opt, a call-center support capability built around a custom retrieval-augmented-generation architecture using IBM AI services. The system links company data such as customer information, inquiry history, manuals, regulations, and product data to IBM watsonx Assistant, IBM Watson Discovery, and the Japanese version of IBM Granite delivered through watsonx.ai. Operators type questions into the interface and the assistant searches company knowledge to present appropriate answer candidates and relevant past conversations, helping them respond faster and more consistently. Over time, usage feeds new findings and corrected knowledge back into the system so answer quality can improve and standardize across the operation. In practice, the solution becomes a governed knowledge-assistance layer for call centers, combining enterprise retrieval with Japanese-language LLM performance tuned for business use.

Data flow

Customer information, inquiry history, manuals, regulations, and product data are indexed into the RAG architecture, operators submit questions through watsonx Assistant, Watson Discovery retrieves relevant knowledge, and Granite on watsonx.ai generates answer candidates and uses past conversation history to support the response.

Solution architecture

  1. Compute
    • IBM watsonx.ai Delivers the AI runtime that hosts Granite and the solution's RAG workflows.
    • IBM Granite Supplies the Japanese-language large language model used to generate business-ready answer candidates.
  2. Serving
    • IBM watsonx Assistant Provides the virtual-agent interface that operators use to search and receive answer candidates.
    • IBM Watson Discovery Processes and retrieves company documents and knowledge for operator assistance.

Architecture clues

  • As usage increases, new findings are accumulated to improve answer quality and standardization.
  • Past conversation history is reused to improve operator responses.
  • The solution uses a unique RAG architecture optimized for company data.

How scores are calculated

Customer Reference Value measures usefulness as a customer reference. Evidence Confidence measures the quality and traceability of available evidence, not independent verification.

Customer reference value70/100
  • Problem clarity20/20
Measures whether the customer's operational problem is specific enough to compare.
  • Implementation depth25/25
Rewards named components, data flow, integrations, and architecture detail.
  • Outcome specificity20/20
Measures whether the reported benefit is concrete rather than a generic claim.
  • Quantified impact0/25
    0 metrics describe measurable impact.
  • Deployment scale5/10
Rewards evidence of a live or scaled deployment and meaningful integration scope.
Evidence confidence87%
  • Source authority20/25
The main evidence is an official vendor-published customer story.
  • Claim traceability21/25
10 of 12 key fields link to a named source.
