Solution

IBM and the Recording Academy combined agentic AI with CRM modernization to serve both fans and members. For fan engagement, the team used IBM watsonx and IBM watsonx Orchestrate to build GRAMMY IQ, where agentic workflows and AI assistants generate music-trivia questions, clues, and explanations from the Academy's proprietary data. The same data foundation also powers Musical Crossroads at the Grammy Museum, where generative AI creates bespoke narratives that explain relationships between artists and genres. On the member side, IBM Consulting used IBM Garage methods to redesign journeys across nominations, ticketing, voting, and renewals while modernizing Salesforce Experience Cloud and Salesforce Marketing Cloud. The combined architecture links proprietary content, orchestration, and CRM workflows so the Academy can create interactive fan experiences at scale while also simplifying multilingual member engagement and campaign operations.

Data flow

Recording Academy data feeds watsonx and watsonx Orchestrate for fan-facing AI experiences such as GRAMMY IQ, while member data flows through the modernized Salesforce Experience Cloud and Marketing Cloud stack to deliver personalized digital journeys and communications.
