Solution

Nationwide used an in-house generative AI workflow to accelerate content creation for Nationwide Pet HealthZone®. Emily Tincher's team prompted a generative AI tool to produce first-draft summaries for 71 pet health conditions, then iterated with additional prompts to generate both short-form and longer descriptions in plain language. Veterinarian experts reviewed, corrected, and enhanced the drafts before publication, keeping humans in the approval loop rather than serving model output directly. The vetted content became part of Nationwide Pet HealthZone®, which combines that medical guidance with Nationwide Pet claims data from millions of pets to deliver personalized information about specific health risks. The source does not name a separate storage or orchestration product, but it does describe a production flow of expert knowledge ingestion, AI-assisted drafting, human validation, and delivery through a customer-facing platform.

Data flow

Nationwide started with thousands of pages of technical veterinary knowledge, used a generative AI tool to draft layperson-friendly summaries for 71 conditions, had veterinarian experts review and refine the output, and then served the finalized content through Nationwide Pet HealthZone®, where it is paired with claims data from millions of pets to provide personalized risk information.
