Solution
Mercedes-Benz is testing ChatGPT in its MO360 digital production ecosystem as a production-facing AI interface for analyzing manufacturing and quality data. The implementation keeps production data in the MO360 Data Platform, which intelligently networks quality data from development, customer experience, and production. ChatGPT is integrated through Azure OpenAI Service and used as a universal voice- and chat-based interface so employees can query production-relevant data conversationally instead of writing complex code. In this workflow, the chatbot helps quality engineers cluster data, identify faults, simplify evaluations and presentations, and progressively narrow questions until the needed level of detail is reached. Mercedes-Benz also extends the same stack into the MO360 Support Bot, a self-service assistant available on company devices worldwide. Voice inputs are processed anonymously in the Azure cloud, while production data remains in MO360 under Mercedes-Benz control.
Data flow
Quality data from development, customer experience, and production is networked in the MO360 Data Platform. Employees query that data through ChatGPT, integrated via Azure OpenAI Service inside the MO360 digital production ecosystem. The chatbot narrows questions in dialogue, supports fault clustering and analysis, and returns evaluations and planning views to production staff, while voice inputs are anonymized in Azure and production data remains in MO360.
