Lendi Group

Application Refactoring · Marketing Personalization

Lendi Group needed to replace a sprawling mix of relational and non-relational systems so it could create a compliant, real-time customer view for AI-native mortgage and property services.

It has already improved time to market for AI features by approximately 40%.
Lendi Group manages a home loan book of more than AU$107 billion.
The combined organization had bloated to more than 500 deployable components.
The group supports approximately 1,350 brokers and 215 retail stores, with a team of around 1,000 people.

Solution

Lendi Group built a unified operational data layer on MongoDB Atlas and MongoDB Vector Search to support its shift toward becoming an AI-native property-finance business. After the Lendi-Aussie merger, the combined company inherited more than 500 deployable components plus fragmented PostgreSQL and non-relational stores that slowed feature delivery and made it hard to assemble a live picture of each customer. Atlas now acts as the document-first core of the new ODL, where property data, finance feeds, geospatial context, customer behavior, and workflow state can be modeled together without duplicating schemas across front-end and back-end systems. MongoDB Vector Search co-locates embeddings with transactional data for RAG-style experiences such as the Lendi Guardian home-loan companion, while the platform's flexible model helps the team maintain auditability and compliance. This architecture gives AI agents the current, governed context they need while reducing microservice sprawl and speeding product iteration.

Data flow

Property valuations, suburb trends, credit reports, Open Banking feeds, and customer interaction data are consolidated in MongoDB Atlas, vectorized where needed for retrieval, and surfaced through services such as Lendi Guardian so customers and AI agents can act on a current, governed view of each mortgage journey.

Solution architecture

2 components · 2 layers
  1. Storage
    • MongoDB Atlas Provides the unified operational data layer for property, finance, customer, and workflow data across Lendi Group.
  2. Serving
    • MongoDB Vector Search Keeps embeddings beside operational data so AI applications such as Lendi Guardian can run RAG-style retrieval without a separate vector database.

Architecture clues

  • Lendi Group chose a document-first approach to standardize data contracts across domains.
  • MongoDB Vector Search was chosen to avoid introducing a separate vector database.
  • The first launch on the new architecture was the Lendi Guardian mobile-first home and loan companion.
  • The platform needs immutable audit trails so the company can trace what humans, agents, and customers did.

Evidence from the source

The company improved time to market for AI features by approximately 40%.
“A deciding factor in selecting MongoDB was its native support for the data types and workloads required by advanced AI applications.”
“MongoDB Vector Search gave Lendi Group the ability to co-locate the vector embeddings directly alongside the transactional operational data.”
“To build an architecture that could support our AI-native vision, we needed to reduce our microservices sprawl, reduce complexity, and look at consolidating core operational data into a unified data layer.”

How scores are calculated

Customer Reference Value measures usefulness as a customer reference. Evidence Confidence measures the quality and traceability of available evidence, not independent verification.

Customer reference value90/100
  • Problem clarity20/20
Measures whether the customer's operational problem is specific enough to compare.
  • Implementation depth25/25
Rewards named components, data flow, integrations, and architecture detail.
  • Outcome specificity20/20
Measures whether the reported benefit is concrete rather than a generic claim.
  • Quantified impact15/25
    1 metric describe measurable impact.
  • Deployment scale10/10
Rewards evidence of a live or scaled deployment and meaningful integration scope.
Evidence confidence89%
  • Source authority20/25
The main evidence is an official vendor-published customer story.
  • Claim traceability21/25
10 of 12 key fields link to a named source.
  • Direct evidence20/20
    4 direct source quotes retained.
  • Date provenance10/10
The publication date comes from the source page or publisher.
  • Source transparency8/10
1 source reference document publisher, URL, authority, retrieval, and supported fields.
  • Implementation specificity10/10
Rewards source-backed components, data flow, quantified impact, and a specific outcome.
