Solution

Plabook built its reading platform around NVIDIA speech AI so children can read aloud and receive immediate assessment instead of waiting for teachers to manually score paper running records. Data Monsters used the NVIDIA Riva Speech AI SDK to train and deploy recognition models on voice recordings from hundreds of children with different accents and reading levels. In production, the application listens to oral reading, scores phoneme-level accuracy, flags errors in real time, and generates a digital running record that teachers only need to review. The result is a classroom workflow that compresses recurring literacy assessments from hours of teacher effort into minutes while still supporting oral fluency, dyslexia screening, comprehension, and phonemic-awareness tasks inside one platform.

Data flow

Students read aloud in the Plabook app, Riva-based speech models analyze pronunciation and errors in real time, and the platform generates a digital running record and feedback for teachers to validate.
