Solution

Scaleway assembled its sovereign AI cloud around the Nabu supercomputer so European customers could train frontier models inside the EU without handing data control to non-European hyperscalers. The environment is built from 127 NVIDIA DGX H100 systems and 1,016 NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPUs, with NVIDIA NVLink handling intra-node bandwidth and Quantum-2 InfiniBand providing low-latency cluster communication. Hosted in Scaleway's DC5 data center in Paris, the platform gives customers a managed environment for training LLMs and other transformer workloads while staying aligned with GDPR and local data-sovereignty requirements. Scaleway used the same stack to support projects such as Mistral AI's Mixtral and Kyutai's Moshi, while its smaller Jero system extends the model to additional workloads. Energy-efficient data-center cooling reduces electricity and water usage, so the architecture pairs scale-out AI training with compliance and sustainability goals.

Data flow

Customer model-training jobs are submitted into Scaleway's DGX-based cloud, GPUs and NVLink handle node-level training, Quantum-2 InfiniBand connects the cluster for distributed runs, and completed models remain inside EU-hosted infrastructure for downstream customer use.

Scoring methodology

How scores are calculated

Customer Reference Value measures usefulness as a customer reference. Evidence Confidence measures the quality and traceability of available evidence, not independent verification.

Customer reference value96/100
  • Problem clarity20/20
Measures whether the customer's operational problem is specific enough to compare.
  • Implementation depth25/25
Rewards named components, data flow, integrations, and architecture detail.
  • Outcome specificity16/20
Measures whether the reported benefit is concrete rather than a generic claim.
  • Quantified impact25/25
    2 metrics describe measurable impact.
  • Deployment scale10/10
Rewards evidence of a live or scaled deployment and meaningful integration scope.
Evidence confidence92%
  • Source authority20/25
The main evidence is an official vendor-published customer story.
  • Claim traceability23/25
11 of 12 key fields link to a named source.
  • Direct evidence20/20
    4 direct source quotes retained.
  • Date provenance10/10
The publication date comes from the source page or publisher.
  • Source transparency9/10
2 source references document publisher, URL, authority, retrieval, and supported fields.
  • Implementation specificity10/10
Rewards source-backed components, data flow, quantified impact, and a specific outcome.
