Solution

Grupo Bimbo built its AI use cases on a standardized Oracle Fusion Cloud application estate after moving more than 90% of its on-premises Oracle applications to Fusion Cloud counterparts. The company uses Oracle Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Oracle Supply Chain Management & Manufacturing, and Oracle Transportation Management as core operational systems, then applies Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence to analyze the shared data produced by those applications. A data management office governs data standards and lifecycle management across the enterprise so the same finance, sales, inventory, transportation, and operational data can be reused consistently. On top of that foundation, Grupo Bimbo is already using a generative AI-powered digital assistant to answer employee questions from policy materials and embedded GenAI in Oracle Cloud ERP to let leaders retrieve sales and financial answers through prompts. The same standardized data layer also supports its customer-facing Connection Center and planned AI extensions in quality inspection, forecasting, and safety training.

Data flow

Data from Grupo Bimbo's Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, supply chain/manufacturing, and transportation applications is standardized under enterprise data rules and analyzed in Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence. Employees consume answers through a generative AI assistant, business leaders query sales and financial information with ERP prompts, and Connection Center teams use the resulting insights to support service, planning, and operational decisions.
