Solution

Nestlé used RISE with SAP as the program and cloud ERP foundation for a staged migration of mission-critical systems into SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition. SAP Services and Support, including SAP MaxAttention and the SAP Solution Delivery Center, helped execute the cutover so the company could retire nine data centers and more than 10,000 servers while moving thousands of applications, 300 SAP instances, and 1,200 terabytes of data to the cloud. Once modernized, integrated SAP applications feed analytics tools and a single point of entry for 275,000 employees. SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite standardizes hire-to-retire processes, SAP Business Technology Platform hosts custom hiring extensions and a multilingual chatbot, and SAP Commerce Cloud exposes ordering, invoicing, and delivery visibility to business customers through self-service portals.

Data flow

Core ERP, HR, and commerce workloads moved from Nestlé's data centers into RISE with SAP and SAP S/4HANA Cloud. Integrated SAP applications feed analytics tools and a single employee entry point, while SAP SuccessFactors and SAP BTP extensions process hiring and people transactions and SAP Commerce Cloud serves order, invoice, and delivery data to business customers.
