Solution

Uniper built a central data and AI foundation on Snowflake to consolidate trading, risk, pricing, optimization, and power-generation data and make it useful at business speed. The company migrated a decade-old reporting platform into Snowflake, giving teams cloud scalability without the storage constraints and upkeep that previously consumed engineering capacity. Key data sets now land on one platform, and start-of-day reports are available earlier so decision-makers can react to market shifts and operational issues during business hours rather than after long batch delays. On top of that governed backbone, Uniper uses Snowflake CoCo and Snowflake CoWork to develop AI agents that combine safety instructions, security guidance, failure history, market prices, and maintenance schedules to recommend the best times and procedures for UK power-plant maintenance. Employees also use CoCo to diagnose non-performant SQL and enable more self-service optimization.

Data flow

Trading, price, risk, and operational data flows into Snowflake, where reporting and analytics deliver earlier business-day insight. CoCo agents pull maintenance, safety, and market context from the same foundation and return recommendations or SQL fixes through CoWork-enabled workflows.

Scoring methodology

How scores are calculated

Customer Reference Value measures usefulness as a customer reference. Evidence Confidence measures the quality and traceability of available evidence, not independent verification.

Customer reference value75/100
  • Problem clarity20/20
Measures whether the customer's operational problem is specific enough to compare.
  • Implementation depth25/25
Rewards named components, data flow, integrations, and architecture detail.
  • Outcome specificity20/20
Measures whether the reported benefit is concrete rather than a generic claim.
  • Quantified impact0/25
    0 metrics describe measurable impact.
  • Deployment scale10/10
Rewards evidence of a live or scaled deployment and meaningful integration scope.
Evidence confidence77%
  • Source authority20/25
The main evidence is an official vendor-published customer story.
  • Claim traceability21/25
10 of 12 key fields link to a named source.
  • Direct evidence20/20
    5 direct source quotes retained.
  • Date provenance0/10
The publication date has no documented provenance.
  • Source transparency8/10
1 source reference document publisher, URL, authority, retrieval, and supported fields.
  • Implementation specificity8/10
Rewards source-backed components, data flow, quantified impact, and a specific outcome.
