Solution

Fortune and Accenture converted the publisher's historical rankings and content archives into Fortune Analytics, a generative AI platform designed for business research and exploration. The system combines data from the Fortune 500, Fortune Global 500, other annual rankings, print and online articles, and video transcripts into a single interface backed by Accenture foundation model services and proprietary LLM assets fine-tuned on Fortune datasets. Users can ask natural-language questions, retrieve insights across multiple source types, and receive generated visual outputs such as line charts, bar charts, and scatterplots on demand instead of manually working through spreadsheets. By collapsing structured ranking data and unstructured editorial content into one LLM-driven experience, Fortune created a searchable business-intelligence layer that improves access to trusted company and industry information while opening a path to new product and revenue models.

Data flow

Fortune rankings, spreadsheet-style analytics data, articles, and video transcripts are consolidated into the Fortune Analytics platform. Foundation model services and proprietary LLM assets fine-tuned on those datasets interpret natural-language requests, retrieve relevant structured and unstructured content, and return textual insights and generated charts through the user interface.
