Solution
China National Building Material Group and Baidu AI Cloud rebuilt the 'I Need a Truck' network-freight platform into a broader smart-logistics operating system. The redesign introduced three governance layers—master data, service interfaces and vehicle tracks—so the underlying data and API surfaces became standardized and reusable across more services. On top of that base, Baidu combined cloud computing, digital maps, IoT, AI and big-data capabilities to drive six upgrades spanning technical architecture, function systems, digital connectivity, data intelligence, algorithm intelligence and user experience. One of the most concrete platform services is logistics mapping, which uses Baidu Maps data and compute to support truck routing, truck navigation and batch route calculation for drivers, improving their experience in the field. Meanwhile, the dispatch layer uses hybrid algorithms that combine expert systems with machine learning to match transport orders and capacity more efficiently. The result is a logistics platform that connects manufacturing demand, carrier supply and driver operations inside one digital service environment.
Data flow
Freight demand from building-material businesses enters the transport-management system, where smart-dispatch algorithms match it with carriers and drivers, and map services then support route planning, navigation and execution in the field.
