Solution
GAC Honda adopted Baidu AI Cloud's Kaiwu industrial solution to digitize end-of-line lamp inspection and turn visual quality checks into a reusable manufacturing data asset. The deployment combines a visual inspection system, an AI visual modeling platform, and the industrial visual intelligence platform so quality teams can manage image data, label samples, train models, run inference, and distribute models without building code-heavy pipelines. On the line, seven dome cameras capture synchronized images from multiple angles while a high-speed scanner reads the vehicle's QR-coded specification sheet and pulls the correct inspection standard. The platform then identifies the vehicle type, matches the expected lamp configuration, checks more than twenty lamp points, and stores process data for traceability. The same visual stack can extend beyond lamps into interior, exterior, chassis, mirror, seat, and wiper inspection, giving Honda one manufacturing AI foundation for broader quality automation.
Data flow
Vehicle configuration sheets are scanned to identify the exact model standard, then seven cameras capture synchronized images of the car's front and rear lighting setup. The visual platform compares those images to the expected configuration, evaluates more than twenty lamp points, stores traceability data, and returns pass/fail or exception results to the production workflow.
