Solution

Farmers State Bank partnered with Incede.ai to deploy Penny, a digital front door powered by IBM watsonx Orchestrate. Instead of functioning as a simple FAQ chatbot, Penny uses multi-step orchestration to understand intent, guide customers through complete tasks, and connect them to the right banker or service. The assistant can schedule appointments, request callbacks, identify the correct branch, and extend conversations beyond the website through links to scheduling systems, internal tools, and SMS messaging. IBM watsonx Orchestrate also brings enterprise-grade auditability, logging, and governance controls that fit a regulated banking environment, so the experience can be both convenient and compliant. Because the interaction model was co-designed around FSB's service philosophy, Penny became a channel-connecting workflow layer rather than a generic overlay, helping the bank unify customer journeys while leaving staff more time for higher-value relationship work.

Data flow

Customers engage Penny in natural language, watsonx Orchestrate routes the request through scheduling systems, internal tools, and SMS messaging as needed, and the guided workflow returns the customer to the right banker or next action in a single interaction.

How scores are calculated

Customer Reference Value measures usefulness as a customer reference. Evidence Confidence measures the quality and traceability of available evidence, not independent verification.

Customer reference value75/100
  • Problem clarity20/20
Measures whether the customer's operational problem is specific enough to compare.
  • Implementation depth25/25
Rewards named components, data flow, integrations, and architecture detail.
  • Outcome specificity20/20
Measures whether the reported benefit is concrete rather than a generic claim.
  • Quantified impact0/25
    0 metrics describe measurable impact.
  • Deployment scale10/10
Rewards evidence of a live or scaled deployment and meaningful integration scope.
Evidence confidence87%
  • Source authority20/25
The main evidence is an official vendor-published customer story.
  • Claim traceability21/25
10 of 12 key fields link to a named source.
