Solution

Ally Financial built this solution on Azure OpenAI Service. Digital financial services firm Ally Financial (Ally) is using Microsoft Azure and Azure OpenAI Service to reduce manual tasks for its customer service associates, freeing up time for them to engage with customers. Azure OpenAI Service provides the generative AI model layer used for summarization, drafting, classification, or copilots in the workflow. After evaluating several options, Ally launched a collaborative project to develop a pilot built on Microsoft Azure using Azure OpenAI Service. It sought to complete the pilot within six weeks and have the first use case in eight, an exceptionally short timeline for the banking sector. Messages, calls, or requests enter the existing workflow, Azure OpenAI Service classifies or summarizes them, and the reviewed output is surfaced to agents and frontline staff. The rollout also connects with call-center workflows so users can work inside existing operating processes.

How scores are calculated

Customer Reference Value measures usefulness as a customer reference. Evidence Confidence measures the quality and traceability of available evidence, not independent verification.

Customer reference value96/100
  • Problem clarity20/20
Measures whether the customer's operational problem is specific enough to compare.
  • Implementation depth25/25
Rewards named components, data flow, integrations, and architecture detail.
  • Outcome specificity16/20
Measures whether the reported benefit is concrete rather than a generic claim.
  • Quantified impact25/25
    4 metrics describe measurable impact.
  • Deployment scale10/10
Rewards evidence of a live or scaled deployment and meaningful integration scope.
Evidence confidence89%
  • Source authority20/25
The main evidence is an official vendor-published customer story.
  • Claim traceability21/25
