Solution
Healthify upgraded its long-running health-coaching stack by combining its existing behavioral-data pipelines with OpenAI models for vision, speech, language, and embeddings. The company kept Ria and Coach Co-pilot as core surfaces, but replaced earlier rules-based and custom-NLU limits with GPT-backed workflows that can reason over nutrition history and broader user context. Snap now combines proprietary food-recognition models with GPT-4 Vision so users can log meals from photos more accurately, even when the meal contains multiple items. Whisper improved transcription for coach workflows, while embeddings solved the food-name matching problem between GPT outputs and Healthify's internal food catalog. Ria also evolved into an ensemble that includes fine-tuned GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 Turbo so it can correlate sleep, glucose, and food history and deliver richer advice. Together these changes gave Healthify a reusable model stack for coaching, food logging, and global expansion.
Data flow
Users send messages, health context, and food photos into Ria, Coach Co-pilot, and Snap. GPT-4 Vision interprets meal images, embeddings map recognized foods into Healthify's catalog, Whisper transcribes coaching interactions, and the Ria ensemble uses those inputs plus sleep, glucose, and platform history to generate personalized nutrition guidance.
