Solution

SchoolAI designed its classroom platform as a teacher-in-the-loop agent system rather than a generic chatbot. Teachers use Dot to create Spaces, where lesson goals are translated into interactive activities and apps, while students work through those activities with Sidekick, an AI tutor built on GPT-4o and GPT-4.1. Under the hood, each student interaction runs through an agent graph with dozens of specialized nodes that call models, tools, or guardrails before returning an answer, keeping the system focused on coaching instead of answer-giving. GPT-4o handles conversational lesson construction and response logic, GPT-4.1 handles deeper reasoning such as multi-step math scaffolding, image generation produces classroom visuals, and text-to-speech delivers spoken feedback in more than 60 languages. Logs and reports remain observable to teachers and administrators, so instructional data, safety controls, and intervention signals flow back to the humans responsible for student outcomes.

Data flow

Teachers prompt Dot to create Spaces and lessons, then students interact with Sidekick inside those environments. Each student input passes through the agent graph and the appropriate OpenAI models before a guided response is returned, while logs, reports, and intervention signals stay visible to teachers and administrators.

Solution architecture

7 components · 2 layers
  1. Compute
    • GPT-4o Drives Dot's conversational lesson building and real-time instructional response generation.
    • GPT-4.1 Handles deeper reasoning tasks such as scaffolding multi-step math problems.
  2. Serving
    • Dot Helps teachers create differentiated lessons and learning environments from natural-language instructions.
    • Spaces Provide the interactive environments where lesson goals, student tasks, and AI support come together.
    • Sidekick Acts as the student-facing tutor that adapts guidance, pacing, and encouragement to each learner.
    • image generation Creates lesson visuals such as maps or science diagrams to support classroom activities.
    • text-to-speech Provides spoken feedback and multilingual accessibility in more than 60 languages.

Architecture clues

  • Built-in guardrails keep AI aligned with classroom goals
  • Every student input runs through an agent graph with dozens of specialized nodes
  • Smart routing sends heavy reasoning to GPT-4.1 or GPT-4o and lighter checks to smaller models
  • Teachers and administrators can observe model decisions through logs and reports

How scores are calculated

Customer Reference Value measures usefulness as a customer reference. Evidence Confidence measures the quality and traceability of available evidence, not independent verification.

Customer reference value90/100
  • Problem clarity20/20
Measures whether the customer's operational problem is specific enough to compare.
  • Implementation depth25/25
Rewards named components, data flow, integrations, and architecture detail.
  • Outcome specificity20/20
Measures whether the reported benefit is concrete rather than a generic claim.
  • Quantified impact15/25
    1 metric describe measurable impact.
  • Deployment scale10/10
Rewards evidence of a live or scaled deployment and meaningful integration scope.
Evidence confidence87%
  • Source authority20/25
The main evidence is an official vendor-published customer story.
  • Claim traceability21/25
10 of 12 key fields link to a named source.
  • Direct evidence20/20
    4 direct source quotes retained.
  • Date provenance8/10
The publication date comes from publisher-controlled metadata.
  • Source transparency8/10
1 source reference document publisher, URL, authority, retrieval, and supported fields.
  • Implementation specificity10/10
