Solution

Mustang Machinery combined low-code apps, analytics, and generative AI to address a skilled-labor shortage without slowing engine maintenance. PwC first documented 60,000 process steps across engine rebuild activities, parts requirements, and shop-floor visuals, then built a digital service coach on Microsoft Power Platform. PowerApps delivers a mobile workflow interface to technicians, Dataverse stores operational data, and Power BI exposes planning and scheduling insights in real time. The solution also includes a generative AI chatbot that serves information from the growing knowledgebase so technicians can retrieve answers quickly instead of waiting on experts. Together, these components create a single source of truth for workstation setup, parts availability, maintenance guidance, and support escalation. Mustang can now coordinate work across multiple sites with just-in-time upskilling, real-time visibility, and faster decision-making.

Data flow

Process steps, parts requirements, visuals, and shop-floor updates flow into Dataverse through the PowerApps-based digital service coach. Power BI serves planning and scheduling views, while the generative AI chatbot queries the knowledgebase to return guidance and answers to technicians and support staff in real time.
