Solution

GlasfaserPlus worked with Capgemini to build a generative AI delay-analysis system for large-scale fiber rollout programs in Germany. The company’s back office was receiving thousands of documents and comments through faxes, letters, emails, and field updates, all of which had to be read, classified, documented, and incorporated into delay calculations. Capgemini proposed an LLM-based approach and developed it iteratively with GlasfaserPlus’ IT team over eight weeks. The system converts unstructured PDF documents into structured records using collaboratively engineered prompts, then extracts the core facts needed to assess delay causes and predict impacts on expansion projects. This structured output gives employees a faster way to review case material, allocate workforce, and communicate proactively with municipalities and partners. After launch, the same foundation began supporting further automation of monitoring, reporting, and additional data-source integrations.

Data flow

Faxes, letters, emails, PDFs, and field comments are collected from rollout projects, analyzed by an LLM with prompt-driven extraction, stored as structured data, and then used by employees to estimate delays and coordinate follow-up actions.

Scoring methodology

How scores are calculated

Customer Reference Value measures usefulness as a customer reference. Evidence Confidence measures the quality and traceability of available evidence, not independent verification.

Customer reference value75/100
  • Problem clarity20/20
Measures whether the customer's operational problem is specific enough to compare.
  • Implementation depth25/25
Rewards named components, data flow, integrations, and architecture detail.
  • Outcome specificity20/20
Measures whether the reported benefit is concrete rather than a generic claim.
  • Quantified impact0/25
    0 metrics describe measurable impact.
  • Deployment scale10/10
Rewards evidence of a live or scaled deployment and meaningful integration scope.
Evidence confidence86%
  • Source authority20/25
The main evidence is an official vendor-published customer story.
  • Claim traceability23/25
11 of 12 key fields link to a named source.
  • Direct evidence15/20
    3 direct source quotes retained.
  • Date provenance10/10
The publication date comes from the source page or publisher.
  • Source transparency10/10
2 source references document publisher, URL, authority, retrieval, and supported fields.
  • Implementation specificity8/10
Rewards source-backed components, data flow, quantified impact, and a specific outcome.
