ContextQA

IT Operations Automation

ContextQA wanted to reduce release delays, quality issues, and test flakiness by automating manual software-testing work without requiring customers to write code, while also using enterprise-safe AI models that satisfied privacy and ethics concerns.

Solution

ContextQA used IBM watsonx.ai to add generative-AI automation to its no-code testing platform for web, API, and mobile applications. After meeting IBM at SXSW, the company worked with the Build Partner team for a month to evaluate IBM's AI tooling without adding new infrastructure. ContextQA used watsonx.ai and IBM-supplied NLP models to migrate plain-English manual test cases into automated workflows across disparate organizational data, identify what changed in the software under test, and generate relevant suggestions for the next testing actions. The company specifically valued IBM's more controlled and governable model approach compared with alternatives it had tried, because enterprise buyers were sensitive to privacy, ethics, and bias. The result was a practical testing architecture that automates large batches of manual cases, reduces flakiness, and helps ContextQA improve reporting and product quality for larger enterprise customers.

Data flow

Plain-English manual test cases and related organizational data are processed by watsonx.ai and IBM NLP models, which generate automated testing steps and change-aware suggestions that feed ContextQA's testing platform.

Evidence from the source

ContextQA has developed an application that does not require any coding knowledge. Instead, it uses AI and automation to test web applications, APIs and mobile applications.
Using natural language processing (NLP) models that IBM provides, ContextQA was able to come up with a large amount of data and automate the manual steps.
We were able to migrate all those cases and automate them within a few minutes.
With IBM AI technology, the company was able to identify what had changed in the software, provide relevant, accurate suggestions, and perform the correct tasks.
it is crucial for enterprise customers to have secure, non-biased ethical models

How scores are calculated

Customer Reference Value measures usefulness as a customer reference. Evidence Confidence measures the quality and traceability of available evidence, not independent verification.

Customer reference value75/100
  • Problem clarity20/20
Measures whether the customer's operational problem is specific enough to compare.
  • Implementation depth25/25
Rewards named components, data flow, integrations, and architecture detail.
  • Outcome specificity20/20
Measures whether the reported benefit is concrete rather than a generic claim.
  • Quantified impact0/25
    0 metrics describe measurable impact.
  • Deployment scale10/10
Rewards evidence of a live or scaled deployment and meaningful integration scope.
Evidence confidence87%
  • Source authority20/25
The main evidence is an official vendor-published customer story.
  • Claim traceability21/25
10 of 12 key fields link to a named source.
  • Direct evidence20/20
    5 direct source quotes retained.
  • Date provenance10/10
The publication date comes from the source page or publisher.
  • Source transparency8/10
1 source reference document publisher, URL, authority, retrieval, and supported fields.
  • Implementation specificity8/10
