ExpertSource Global Services

Customer Service Automation · Security and Compliance

ExpertSource needed to monitor far more call-center interactions for compliance because manual review of only a small sample left the company exposed to regulatory penalties, litigation and inconsistent service quality in debt-collection operations.

Solution

ExpertSource expanded its CXReview automated call-review platform through a co-creation project with IBM Client Engineering, turning keyword-based compliance monitoring into a cloud-native ML workflow. The solution runs in Kubernetes containers on Red Hat OpenShift and uses an embedded IBM service agreement to call IBM Watson Studio, IBM Watson Machine Learning, Speech to Text and Natural Language Understanding against recorded calls. Audio is transcribed, analyzed for natural-language meaning and checked against compliance requirements rather than simple keyword presence, allowing far broader monitoring coverage across the collections operation. Because the stack is deployable on public or private cloud, CXReview could keep evolving the platform while giving ExpertSource production-ready analytics in a short timeframe. The result is a scalable compliance pipeline that continuously evaluates calls, supports quality teams and reduces dependence on expensive manual sampling.

Data flow

Recorded calls are transcribed with Speech to Text, analyzed with Natural Language Understanding and Watson ML services, evaluated inside CXReview against compliance rules, and surfaced to quality teams through the OpenShift-hosted platform for broad, automated call monitoring.

Solution architecture

5 components · 3 layers
  1. Ingest
    • Speech to Text Transcribes recorded calls so downstream compliance models can analyze them.
  2. Compute
    • IBM Watson Studio Supports the AI workflow used to build and refine automated call-review models.
    • IBM Watson Machine Learning Runs machine-learning services that evaluate calls against compliance requirements.
    • Natural Language Understanding Extracts meaning from call transcripts to detect compliance issues beyond simple keywords.
  3. Serving
    • Red Hat OpenShift Hosts the CXReview solution in Kubernetes containers across public or private cloud environments.

Architecture clues

  • IBM and CXReview built an MVP in eight weeks before further refinement.
  • The AI stack uses transcription plus natural-language analysis rather than keyword-only review.
  • The platform runs in Kubernetes containers on any public or private cloud.

How scores are calculated

Customer Reference Value measures usefulness as a customer reference. Evidence Confidence measures the quality and traceability of available evidence, not independent verification.

Customer reference value90/100
  • Problem clarity20/20
Measures whether the customer's operational problem is specific enough to compare.
  • Implementation depth25/25
Rewards named components, data flow, integrations, and architecture detail.
  • Outcome specificity20/20
Measures whether the reported benefit is concrete rather than a generic claim.
  • Quantified impact15/25
    1 metric describe measurable impact.
  • Deployment scale10/10
Rewards evidence of a live or scaled deployment and meaningful integration scope.
Evidence confidence89%
  • Source authority20/25
The main evidence is an official vendor-published customer story.
  • Claim traceability21/25
10 of 12 key fields link to a named source.
  • Direct evidence20/20
    5 direct source quotes retained.
  • Date provenance10/10
The publication date comes from the source page or publisher.
  • Source transparency8/10
1 source reference document publisher, URL, authority, retrieval, and supported fields.
  • Implementation specificity10/10
Rewards source-backed components, data flow, quantified impact, and a specific outcome.
