Solution

BBVA deployed ChatGPT Enterprise at group scale and used it to build customized GPTs for specific internal workflows. In the legal function, BBVA loaded consultation documents, product specification sheets, and internal and external regulations into a GPT so lawyers could retrieve relevant guidance faster and draft fuller answers before a human review step. In marketing, BBVA configured another GPT with instructions, contextual documents, and examples of prior high-performing campaign text so it could generate search-optimized ad copy. For data governance, BBVA connected a GPT-driven conversational interface to its Single Data Model so employees could find data types, identify data owners, and see where data had already been used in other applications. BBVA also created an internal GPT Store to publish reusable assistants, while developers used ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot for coding, documentation, and code translation tasks.

Data flow

BBVA feeds legal reference material, regulations, campaign instructions, contextual documents, and prior campaign text into task-specific GPTs running in ChatGPT Enterprise. For data discovery, the GPT interface helps employees navigate metadata and usage information in the Single Data Model. Outputs are then consumed by lawyers, marketers, data users, and developers, with reusable assistants distributed through BBVA's internal GPT Store.

Solution architecture

5 components · 3 layers
  1. Storage
    • Single Data Model Centralizes departmental and operational information that employees query through a conversational GPT experience to find data and ownership.
  2. Serving
    • ChatGPT Enterprise Provides the group-wide generative AI environment used by employees to run and scale BBVA's internal use cases.
    • GPT Store Acts as BBVA's internal library for locating and reusing GPTs that can be shared across the organization.
    • GitHub Copilot Supports developers with code improvement, new feature development, documentation generation, and code translation.
  3. Orchestration
    • GPT Customized assistants package documents, instructions, and context for legal support, marketing copy generation, and data discovery workflows.

Architecture clues

  • BBVA created a proprietary GPT Store to surface reusable GPTs across the organization
  • BBVA uses a Single Data Model that centralizes financial, sales and marketing, logistical, legal and technological data
  • Legal GPT answers undergo human review before being sent to branch managers

How scores are calculated

Customer Reference Value measures usefulness as a customer reference. Evidence Confidence measures the quality and traceability of available evidence, not independent verification.

Customer reference value75/100
  • Problem clarity20/20
Measures whether the customer's operational problem is specific enough to compare.
  • Implementation depth25/25
Rewards named components, data flow, integrations, and architecture detail.
  • Outcome specificity20/20
Measures whether the reported benefit is concrete rather than a generic claim.
  • Quantified impact0/25
    0 metrics describe measurable impact.
  • Deployment scale10/10
Rewards evidence of a live or scaled deployment and meaningful integration scope.
Evidence confidence92%
  • Source authority25/25
The deployment is described by the adopting organization or a government source.
  • Claim traceability21/25
10 of 12 key fields link to a named source.
  • Direct evidence20/20
    8 direct source quotes retained.
  • Date provenance10/10
The publication date comes from the source page or publisher.
  • Source transparency8/10
1 source reference document publisher, URL, authority, retrieval, and supported fields.
  • Implementation specificity8/10
