Solution

Baidu AI Cloud privately deployed a full intelligent-customer-service stack for China Southern Power Grid's Guangdong customer-service center. The project started from scratch with intelligent text service, rebuilt the hotline IVR experience, and added a unified knowledge base so service logic and answers could be reused across channels. At the model layer, Baidu combined intent recognition, entity extraction, multi-turn dialogue, and semantic understanding with Guangdong Grid's own industry customer-service data to fine-tune a power-domain large model. The resulting platform serves both self-service users and human agents: online customers can resolve common requests automatically, while agents receive answer suggestions and structured knowledge support through the same shared service backbone. By combining private deployment, domain data, and self-learning knowledge management, the platform turned a traditional power contact center into an AI-assisted service operation with measurable improvements in resolution and productivity.

Data flow

Customer requests from online text channels and the 95598 hotline enter the shared intelligent-service layer. The large model classifies intent and entities, the knowledge base returns grounded answers or agent suggestions, and both self-service and human-assisted flows feed conversation history back into the system to strengthen future responses.

Solution architecture

4 components · 3 layers
  1. Compute
    • Power Customer Service Large Model Applies intent recognition, entity recognition, multi-turn dialogue, and semantic understanding to power-sector service questions.
  2. Storage
    • Unified Intelligent Knowledge Base Provides the shared answer corpus used by bots and agents and improves itself from historical conversations.
  3. Serving
    • Intelligent Customer Service Delivers automated text-based customer support across Guangdong Grid's service channels.
    • Intelligent IVR Modernizes the hotline's voice-service flow with AI-driven interaction and routing.

Architecture clues

  • A single knowledge base supports both automated text service and hotline IVR transformation.
  • Historical conversations are mined continuously so the knowledge base can self-learn and improve.
  • The customer-service stack was privately deployed for the utility rather than delivered as a generic public service.

Scoring methodology

How scores are calculated

Customer Reference Value measures usefulness as a customer reference. Evidence Confidence measures the quality and traceability of available evidence, not independent verification.

Customer reference value100/100
  • Problem clarity20/20
Measures whether the customer's operational problem is specific enough to compare.
  • Implementation depth25/25
Rewards named components, data flow, integrations, and architecture detail.
  • Outcome specificity20/20
Measures whether the reported benefit is concrete rather than a generic claim.
  • Quantified impact25/25
    3 metrics describe measurable impact.
  • Deployment scale10/10
Rewards evidence of a live or scaled deployment and meaningful integration scope.
Evidence confidence89%
  • Source authority20/25
The main evidence is an official vendor-published customer story.
  • Claim traceability21/25
10 of 12 key fields link to a named source.
  • Direct evidence20/20
    4 direct source quotes retained.
  • Date provenance10/10
The publication date comes from the source page or publisher.
  • Source transparency8/10
1 source reference document publisher, URL, authority, retrieval, and supported fields.
